AI & Digital Accessibility

Building accessibility into AI from the beginning.

Making AI-Powered Work Accessible

AI is becoming part of how organizations create products, develop content, make decisions, and deliver services. C4AT helps organizations ensure that processes powered by AI are accessible and that accessibility is built into the pipeline from the beginning.

We also test AI-powered products and features to identify barriers and help teams create experiences that work for people with disabilities.

How We Help

Build Accessibility Into the Pipeline

We work with teams using AI to include accessibility in planning, design, development, testing, and release—not as an afterthought.

Test AI-Powered Products

We test AI interfaces, interactions, and generated content using expert review, assistive technology, and feedback from people with disabilities.

Accessibility Questions We Test

Our reviews examine whether the AI-powered experience makes information and functionality accessible, including:

  • Are working, loading, and response states exposed so screen readers and other assistive technologies can announce them?
  • Are generated responses marked up with headings, lists, tables, and other structure that assistive technologies can identify and navigate?
  • Can every interaction be completed with a keyboard, voice input, switch access, and other input methods?
  • Are errors, status changes, suggestions, and updates programmatically exposed and communicated at the right time?

We also examine generated content, cognitive and sensory access, and other accessibility questions relevant to the product.
